North Chicago. It's located about 1 hour north of actual downtown Chicago and for the most part is a pretty sketchy place. We're lucky and live in a safe part of town. It really is a beautiful area though. We're just a couple miles from the beach and lots of nature preserves are scattered around. We really do love where we live. Our apartment is just our size and we have had so much fun turning it into our own little nook.
First floor means we can let little Lucy right out our sliding door for bathroom breaks, easy grocery shopping loading and of course, easy move-in.

The Den - Lucy's private room is right behind that door on the right (yes, it's a closet but actually quite large!) |
 |
| Other side of the den. |
 |
| FYI - that far couch now has cushions! Not covered yet but we have cushions :) |
 |
| Not pictured - Our wonderfully spacious walk in closet. |
 |
| Notice the beautiful green legs of our table. Dave made those :) |
 |
| I know it looks skinny but it's really not too bad. |
So this is our little nook. We're still adding a few finishing touches [i.e. crafts, finding more to paint, finishing cushion upholstery, etc.] but so far, so good :)
totally cute!
ReplyDeleteLove your place Ruth! Check out all your fancy furniture and your artistic eye putting it all together to make a home! Seriously, you have the most stylin' student apt. I think I've ever seen! :)
ReplyDeleteReally love your stylish little place! So lovley. You've done a great job making it home. I've taught you well. :)
ReplyDeleteI noticed the awesome green legs before I even saw the caption! LOVE: the table, the flower garland, the wooden crates on your bookshelf (i'm looking everywhere for some but they are expensive because they are so "vintage"), how crisp &clean your bedroom is, the three green pics by your kitchen table, and best of all- the sweet comments from your three adorable sisters!!!
