Meet Ms. Penny.
She is a honey if there ever was one.
That is if there ever were a honey that had the tiniest bladder in the world and went potty in the house even if she'd just gone moments ago outside. But she's so darling I can hardly get too upset with her.
We are foster parents! My life long dream to give a resting place to homeless dogs in kind of coming true. One puppy dog at a time. With little convincing from me, Dave agreed to let me volunteer our house to be a foster home for shelter dogs on their way to finding adoptive families. It's been an adventure and lots of work but more love than we could have imagined.
So far we've had...
Maggie Mae: English Bulldog
2 1/2 years old
Saved a week before her euthanasia date. Bundle of energy.
One of the highest jumping dogs I've ever encountered.
Loves every single person she meets.
Currently have...Penny: Husky Mix
10 weeks
Born at an outdoor shelter. Only 1 of 6 other litter mates to live.
Born at an outdoor shelter. Only 1 of 6 other litter mates to live.
Personality award for Most Sassy.
Best sleep snuggler/acts exactly like a human baby.
Baron: Lab
10 weeks (when we got him)
Found as a stray.
Easiest puppy I've ever housed.
Loved everyone. So incredibly smart. Loved Lucy with all his heart.
Almost kept him.
If you're ready for a pet, just remember the shelter animals that already need a home. They're fighters who've already proved they deserve to be here. They're not broken. They've just known a little more life than they'd care to. Lucy has been the BEST and we're so blessed to have her.
