This is Frankfort, MI - a picturesque little town on the north coast of Lake Michigan. This was our second time going there with Dave's family for vacation and we love it more every time!
For starters, the house that we stay at is amazingly full of beautiful old things.
An organ that still plays.
A wooden map of the area.
old classic books
The sun room area for a game of checkers
The large attic is filled with all sorts of treasures like, a record player with a good selection of records
an adorable blue bench swing, paintings of an Indian chief, sailboats, old typewriter and wooden chests.
I absolutely LOVE this chair.
The breakfast nook.
And of course, the lighthouse with a beautiful long walk along the pier.
We had fantastic sunsets almost every night, very lucky.
Delicious award winning ice cream! (Voted by Good Morning America)
If you squint your eyes, guess what it says!
Fave family pic :)
There were so many fun activities like: biking
It was too far Lucy to run back (I mean 10 miles is a lot!) so she hitched a ride with Grace.
The garage of the house has about 12 of the most adorable old road bikes that we
love to use when we're there.
We played at the beach,
went canoeing... and Lucy relaxed.
Oh, and we might have gone for an airplane ride with Dave's dad. It was unbelievably fun and amazing to see a huge body of water, many inlets and small lakes inland, mountains of sand dunes, and acres of pine trees from the sky.
What can we say... we love Michigan.
That place is beautiful!! Looks like fun :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun trip! Looks like you guys had a blast. What cool stuff all around to explore. Can't wait for you guys to explore Chicago! Girls trip!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun place to visit! I love that one of the things that makes it so fun is that you appreciate and enjoy the little details, like the vintage National Geographic collection from the 1940's... Love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your fave family picture on the beach. This looks like a really fun and relaxing place to stay and explore.
